Greg Meakin, 51, was raised in Montreal and played minor hockey for over two decades. He relocated to Washington State in 1983 where he lived until 2004, and now resides in Vancouver, Washington. In 1990, he took a two year sabbatical in Florida to spend time with his young children and publish his first book, Secrets from the Inside. He returned to Washington and completed Bremerton Ice Arena in 2003.
In addition be being a self-confessed “passionate hockey dad” and publisher with two books in the works, Greg Meakin is a former auto industry manager, real estate developer, and serial entrepreneur. He is a bilingual dual citizen -- English-French, American-Canadian respectively – and plans to build or acquire more ice arenas under his personal brand. He has been with his wife Deborah for 25 years and has three grown sons, including twin boys who are now 21.
