Deborah Meakin is a Topeka, Kansas native and was raised an Air Force brat with her father serving as a USAF Colonel and B-52 pilot. Her family lived in Alaska, Japan, Arkansas and several other homesteads during her childhood.
Deborah settled in the Seattle area in 1983, where she met and married Greg Meakin in 1987. In addition to chasing kids for the past few decades, her background includes theatre and the fitness industry. She attended the University of Kansas in the 1970s with a theatre major, and spent years in the fitness industry as an aerobics and step-training instructor. She also was a licensed massage therapist through most of the 1980s.
In 2003, Deborah Meakin became a hockey mom, co-owning Bremerton Ice Arena where she coordinated special events and parties. She has also been pursuing her own entrepreneurial adventures of late, including producing a children's cartoon series, Kitty Godiva , which will be launched nationally in 2012.
Deborah has raised three sons, including twins who are now 21, and is an animal lover extraordinaire.
