The Canadian version vs. the AmericanI had been shocked about the wave of sexual harassment claims of late. I recently wrote an editorial addressing my concern, and it was published in the Toronto Sun December 15th.My wife, who is much smarter than me, was disappointed when the article was published, mainly with how different the story appeared from the original version. The story angle itself was inspired a few weeks ago by Deborah, when she identified the Bill Cosby scandal that seemed to open the floodgates of today's harassment and assault claims. I agreed, and wrote the piece. She was disappointed the title had been changed by the newspaper, and many words and phrases were edited out that were, in her eyes, crucial to an edgy story like this. I explained how careful newspapers have to be these days with libel, provocative subject matter, and taste! So, I toss up both versions here for my readers to compare. I'll just call the first one the uncut American version, and the second is the Canadian story.Which one do you like better? Please leave a comment with your feedback.American vs. Canadian? You make the call!
